We are excited to share that our ‘Heathside’ project has been recognised at the Society of Garden Designers Awards attaining the best ‘Medium Residential & Landscape Award’. This alone was a huge honour, but to also be given the ‘Judges award’ was truly unexpected and a proud moment for our studio.
What the Judges said:
“Our winner this year has made the unpredictable a gorgeous reality. The starting point was complex. An unprepossessing setting for the house and a random collection of unusual elements within the garden, many of which were derelict or in states of decay. While many would respond by clearing the site and starting again, this garden celebrates what is there.
It re-imagines and re-purposes relic elements especially the historically alien Westmoreland rockery and adds a wholly new idea that collides with the existing site in an exciting and dramatic way. It is a garden of layers superimposed one upon another and knitted together with beautiful planting combinations. It is full of intrigue and mystery and makes the garden the cohesion. We have not seen anything like it before and we universally loved it.”
The success of this project was the result of hugely supportive and brave clients and an extensive team who created this garden through the challenging lockdown periods of Covid.
